Talk it Out.

One of the most important things to have in your relationship is good communication. There are going to be times in your life when communicating to your partner could end up saving you a lot of hassle and sleepless nights on the couch. You have to realize that if you don’t talk about your differences or issues in a conversational tone, you are going to end up making things even worse for a bit of time. Things like that happen way too often in relationships, and it's up to you to put a stop to it so that the two of you can be happy gain.
How many times have you had the chance to tell your partner that they were doing something you didn’t like and it ended up in a heated argument? This type of thing happens to everyone, and there is no way of telling when the next big blow out is going to happen. You just have to be prepared for anything that might be said and figure out a way of getting around the harsher aspects of that argument the best way that you can. But you shouldn’t let things sit inside and build up, either.
If you absolutely need to tell your partner how you feel about something, then you have to do it in a way that doesn’t cause them to become defensive. Defensiveness makes a conversation become one sided and that will get you nowhere fast. You will end up yelling at each other and throwing blame around like water on a house fire. The only problem is you will only have a tiny tea cup of water and that fire will continue to flame out of control every time you toss more water on it. You have to be able to stop an argument before it gets to that point.


There really is no reason for anyone to argue. Most civilized people are able to have a conversation and point out ways that things could be better for both parties. You have to think in those terms and realize that most of the issues you are having with your partner have something to do with the way you are acting as well. You need to take responsibility for the things that you are doing wrong and try to resolve them in a way that makes your partner happy before you start pointing fingers at them.


Everyone has failings with who they are, and there are a lot of couples that don’t agree on things in life. This is something that you are just going to have to accept and live with if you want your relationship to work out for the best. But that doesn’t mean you can't bring some things up that you would like your partner to change and ask them what you could change about yourself to make things a bit more even. 

Compromise is a key ingredient to communication and it's something you are going to find yourself doing quite a bit of in the future if you want your relationship to work.

Seven Ways to Store Fresh Food Longer

Experts say the average family throws out nearly 15 percent of all fresh foods they purchase each year. Depending upon where you live and the time of year, that could add up to quite a bit of money. It is important to find ways to store fresh food for longer. Here are seven ways to accomplish this.
1. Homemakers of years past had a root cellar to place root vegetables like potatoes, onions and carrots. They may have also used the root cellar to store home canned goods. Perhaps you do not have a root cellar, but you can use the same basic idea.
The goal is to keep these vegetables in a cool, dry place that is out of direct sunlight. Storing them in the refrigerator will actually make them spoil quicker. An alternative is to store root vegetables in paper bags stored in the cabinet. Be sure to keep onions and potatoes separate or they will spoil.

2. Cheese is another food that spoils if not used quickly. Wrap cheese in wax paper before storing it in the refrigerator. This will allow the cheese to breathe but will not allow excess moisture to reach it. Be sure to keep each type of cheese separate from the others to stop flavors from mixing.

3. Fresh herbs are similar to cut flowers; they need water to stay fresh. Keep herbs like basil, cilantro and parsley on the cabinet in a glass with about an inch of water. On the other hand, non-leafy herbs like thyme, sage and rosemary keep best if stored in a moistened paper towel and then put in a reusable bag. Put the bag in the refrigerator.

4. Canning fruits and vegetables is another way to store them for a longer period. Home canning really is not difficult and you know what you have added to the foods. Store-bought canned goods, however, may contain chemical preservatives to maintain freshness. Jelly, jam, sauces, fruit halves or vegetables can be stored for a year or longer if they are processed correctly.

5. A vacuum sealer is also a good investment for storing food. This option may cost more than others, but vacuum-sealed foods can last for months past the normal storage time. When you vacuum seal the food and then place it in the freezer, your storage time increases even further. A quality vacuum sealer will cost between £100 and £300, but they are definitely worth the price when you consider how much food you can save.

6. If you have stored as much of your food as you can and you still have fresh fruits or vegetables that are starting to look too ripe, find recipes that will use the food rather than letting it go to waste. Your family will enjoy a great meal and you will have saved money by keeping the food out of the trashcan.

7. Finally, if you do find some of the food is too far gone to eat, do not simply throw it away. Start a compost pile for all non-protein leftovers or foods that have gone bad. Composting the food will at least provide nutrition for the soil in a flower or vegetable garden.

They Cheated - Now What

These days, cheating is becoming a highly popularized hobby for people, especially younger folks who like to “play the field.” However, those who have been cheated on know that affairs are nothing to be taken lightly. They are extremely damaging blows to most all relationships. When an affair occurs, that’s usually it.
Some people wonder, though, young or old, if it’s possible to forgive your other half for infidelities. The fact of the matter is that whether you’ve been dating for almost a year, or have been married for a decade or two, the answer remains the same. The truth is that it’s complicated.

If you can forgive your lover for cheating on you, there are some complex feelings that still remain, and some problems that can still arise as a result of it all. For instance, you may be able to say you forgive them and stay in the relationship, but the doubt will stay in your mind. The only comfort you’ll ever feel in the relationship again is with complete disclosure of all meetings, plans, conversations, and whatever else applies. No privacy can exist between the two of you.
